What is the difference between Fiction and NonFiction?

Fiction

...A story from the author's imagination

 

It could take place on in an alien place:

It could take place in a real place:

It could take place in a pretend time:

It could take place in a real time:

It could have characters that seem like the people you meet everyday:

It could have characters that could never be real:

It could include real people, and or real events:

but the story is from the imagination of the author.

 

NonFiction

... text based on real facts and meant to inform

 

 

It could be a collection of facts about a particular topic

It could be an account of a person's life

It could be a collection of articles about a topic

It could be tables of statistics

It could be information about how to do something

It could be poetry, even poetry about a fictious character

It could be a fable, tall tale, or myth

It could be a text important to culture even if it is fiction

It could be a collection of definitions or explanations

It could be an account of something that happened

It could be a text important to faith

the information is meant to teach us about our world
