About Mrs. Mayer

I love to read and learn new things. I love to share what I have learned, so being a librarian is a great fit! I first first became an elementary teacher, then I went back to school to become a librarian. I love to learn.

To become a teacher, I earned a bachelor's degree in college, majoring in elementary education. Since I love music, I took many extra courses in music and earned a degree in music too! After teaching first and third grade for a few years, I went back to university to earn a master's degree in library science, and then a teaching certificate just for school libraries. Since then, I have spent many years teaching in school libraries.

At home, I am busy with my family. I like to bake, vegetable garden, hike, research family history, travel, and sing in my church choir.

My favorite kind of books to read is a true life stories and adventure stories; but I love to read lots of other kinds of books too. Some of my favorite picture books are:
